THE DUBLIN DOG HUB

A warm welcome to the Dublin Dog Hub. We provide dog shelter services for Dublin and the surrounding areas.

The shelter was founded by Linda Martin in February 2024 and we split our services between two focus areas.  We are currently under contract to Dublin City Council's Animal Welfare Unit to provide safe, secure and comfortable accommodation to stray, seized or unwanted dogs.

We strive to reunite lost dogs with their owners and to find new homes for dogs who need them.

In conjunction with our work with Dublin City Council Linda also runs a private rescue and re-homing service where dogs get the same care and attention and we work hard to rehabilitate where needed and get these dogs their forever home.

DCC DOGS FOR REHOMING

Gloria

Meet our lovely pocket bully Gloria.   Gloria is about 3 years old and was brought to the shelter as a stray.   The poor girl was in fact found tied to a pole near Northside!  Gloria loves going for her walks and is good on the lead and loves interactions with humans in the shelter.   She does not, however, have time for other dogs so definitely needs to be the only dog in the house.   She wants the belly rubs and bum scratches all for herself.

Todd

Would you look at the face on this beauty.  This is Todd.  He's an approximately 3 year old Lurcher and was found straying.   He was in some discomfort with very irritated skin around his hind quarters and was quite shut down at the start.  But once he realised he was surrounded by good food, a warm bed and lots of love, he has quickly warmed up.  He is very friendly.   Seems really interested in everything around him.   Seems interested in other dogs so might rehome with another large sensible dog.   We don't know about cats.

Please come and meet him for yourselves.  He's a gem.

Shadow ** ADOPTED **

Meet the fabulous Shadow.   He's about 1.5 years old and is a truly magnificent black German Shepherd.   Shadow was surrendered through no fault of his own.   His owner just could no longer take care of him.  He's a friendly young dog, big but not overly bouncy.   Loves to play fetch with balls or toys and knows a few basic commands.   Will be a very easy dog to train more and he will make someone with breed experience a super pet.  He's reasonably large so we would probably say only a house with no kids or older dog savvy kids.  Come and meet this stunner for yourself.

Teddy

This lovely goofball is Teddy.  He's approximately 5 yrs old and was found straying and never reclaimed.  Teddy is a pretty chilled chap, full of quirky personality.  He's very friendly and does not seem at all bothered to be around other dogs.  He will make someone a really great pet - not a major high energy dog, but one that is full of fun and love.

Baloo ** BOOKED **

We can't wait for you to meet our newest Mail..... Baloo.   This amazing young dog is just fabulous in all ways.  He's stunning to look at and has a personality to match.  He's only about 1.5 yrs old and was found straying and not reclaimed.  He's high on energy but also high on love for his people.   A great fun dog but definitely one who needs an active family who can give him the right level of exercise.  If you want to run and hike, you may just have found your soulmate in Baloo.

BlackJack ** ADOPTED **

BlackJack is the new kid in the Hub, Hes between 1 and 2 and is a lab/rottie x.

We think he might be best suited as the only dog in the house but he's just lovely with his humans, loves his treats and will be easy to train.  He already has good basics, just needs the right human to help him polish them.

We think he's a very handsome boy and hope he finds his perfect match very soon.

Pongo

Meet the gorgeous Mr Pongo.  He's approx 1.5 year old staffie X who came into our care as a stray.

He is a really happy go luck boy and loves to meet people and gives you the biggest grin and tail wag as he does.

He has a goofy, clumsy nature and wants to always be under your feet getting belly rubs.

We think he would be best suited as the only dog in the home as he seems never to have been socialised with other dogs, but with patience this could be improved.

What is a guarantee is that he will love his peeps with every bone in his body.   Come and meet him for yourself.

Baby  ** ADOPTED **

The beautiful Baby is a 3 year old girl who came into are care as a surrender trough no fault of her own.   She's an absolutely fabulous dog who loves to be around people and just wants to give everyone a big kiss.

Great with other dogs too and while she is strong on the lead this will improve with patience and time.

She grew up around children and would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a new love bug to join their clan.

PRIVATE REHOMINGS

Theo ** ADOPTED **

Just look at this stunner!   Theo is a husky and is only about 8 months old.  Theo was surrender due to his owners working full time and being unable to give him the time he needs as a young active dog.

He is very friendly and easygoing.   Lovely dog to walk, though he will need a little lead work as he's quite bouncy and jumpy on the lead.  He would be better in a home with older kids probably due to the bouncy nature but will make a fabulous addition to any home

Poppy  ** ADOPTED **

Yet another young dog who has been surrendered through no fault of her own.  This little cutie is Poppy.  Poppy is a lab x and is only about 8/9 months old.

Like all puppies she is really playful and bouncy and loves to get up in your face for kisses.

She loves to play, loves to meet new humans and dogs and she will be an absolute belter of a dog for any family to take on.

Please come and meet her and see for yourself x.

Daisy ** ADOPTED **

Another baby who has been surrendered to the Hub through no fault of her own.   Meet the absolutely adorable Daisy.   She's about 6 months old and is a beagle.

Any family looking for an active dog who loves walks and sniffs would do well to come and meet this little lady.

If you like your hiking, beagles can match you all the way.

Very friendly and affectionate and young enough to train to fit any household

Missy ** ADOPTED **

This gorgeous young girl is Missy.   She is just 9 months old and came into the shelter as a surrender through no fault of her own.  She is an absolute sweetheart of a dog.  Full of affection and cuddles for you.   She is very playful, good around other dogs and kids too.

When she first meets new people she can be a little nervous but that quickly goes away once she gets to know you.   Really nice dog to walk and even though she is a German Shepherd/Mali cross she is quite petite for the breed.

She's too young not to have a couch of her own so please come and meet her for yourself x.

Lexi

Lexi is a lovely 6 year old Lab who was sadly surrendered as her owner can no longer give her the time she needs.    She is an energetic girl who is trained and knows all the basic, but she needs constant reminders to ensure she stays in check.  She loves playing fetch, loves her balls.

She has grown up around kids and other dogs and is great with them but due to her bounciness she might be better with older dog savvy kids.

She just needs a loving home where someone can give her a bit more time to ensure she can burn off her energy in a positive way and she will be a very loving companion.

Come meet her for yourself.

Junior ** ADOPTED **

Isn't this just the most unique and cutedog you've seen?  This is Junior.  He's approx 3 yrs old Pocket Bully x and he is just one little cuddle monster.

Junior is a very undemanding dog and the shelter and he has been here waaay too long.   Lots of people come and no one every shows him an interested.

He's very friendly and playful.  Good with kids, good on the lead.

He does have a quirk where he gets really excited when he sees bikes or e-scooters whizzing past and he wants to chase, but this can be easily managed and trained to stop.

If you take a chance on Junior you will genuinely get the most loving dog.  Come visit him and see for yourself.

Reggie

Reggie is the bestest boy you can imagine , he has been brought up so well  He is super friendly, loves being close to you & is so affectionate, we all absolutely love him .

He's a 1 year old male staffy. He is sadly searching for a forever home due to change in family circumstances .

Reggie is great to walk on the lead.. he loves his little daily wanders down the lane.  He is a great with other dogs, just wants to say hello & play  He could re-home with a sibling dog pending successful meet & greet .

Reggie is very polite & mannerly, he knows basic commands but has the scope to learn more as he is extremely clever & treat driven so he will really make the right household an amazing companion.

Guinness ** BOOKED **

Meet Guinness

This gorgeous, cuddly boy is as friendly as they come. He loves life (and treats!) and has the happiest little personality. Because of his airway issues he can only do short walks, but it doesn’t stop him enjoying every moment.

He’s brilliant with kids, great with other dogs, has zero aggression, and isn’t distressed by his condition at all — he’s just a happy, snuggly sweetheart who wants love.

Guinness would be the perfect companion for someone who doesn’t mind a bit of snoring now and then.

If you think you could offer this lovely boy a calm, loving home, please get in touch.
